অগ্নিপথ প্রকল্পে নিয়োগের জন্য জাত ও ধর্মের শংসাপত্র চাইছে। এমনই অভিযোগ তুলেছে বিরোধীরা। এদিন সংসদে সাংবাদিকদের সামনে বিরোধীদের তোলা এহেন অভিযোগকে নস্যাৎ করে প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিং ( Rajnath Singh On Agnipath scheme)। তিনি বলেছেন, "এটা একটা গুজব মাত্র। প্রাক্-স্বাধীনতা যুগ থেকে প্রচলিত ব্যবস্থাই এখনও চলছে। কোনওরকম পরিবর্তন করা হয়নি। পুরোনো ব্যবস্থা বলবৎ আছে।"
