শুক্রবার লোকসভায় বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের রাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ভি মুরালিধরনের দেওয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী , ২০১৭ সালে নাগরিকত্ব ত্যাগ করা ভারতীয়ের সংখ্যা ছিল ১,৩৩,০৪৯। পাঁচ বছর পর ২০২২ সালের ৩১ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত তা বেড়ে হয়েছে ১,৮৩,৭৪১ জন।
গত কয়েক বছরে নাগরিকত্ব ত্যাগকারী ভারতীয়ের সংখ্যা উল্লেখযোগ্য হারে বেড়েছে। শুক্রবার লোকসভায় বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের রাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ভি মুরালিধরনের (Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan) দেওয়া তথ্য অনুযায়ী এই তথ্য জানা গিয়েছে। ভারতীয় নাগরিকত্ব ত্যাগকারী ভারতীয়দের সংখ্যা ২০১৫ সালে ১,৩১,৪৮৯ জন, ২০১৬ সালে ১,৪১,৬০৩ জন, ২০১৭ সালে ১,৩৩,০৪৯ জন, ২০১৮ সালে ১,৩৪,৫৬১ জন, ২০১৯ সালে ১,৪৪,০১৭ জন, ২০২০ সালে ৮৫,২৫৬ জন এবং ২০২২ সালে ১,৬৩,৩৭০ জন ভারতীয় নাগরিকত্ব ত্যাগ করেছেন।
২০১৭ সালে নাগরিকত্ব ত্যাগ করা ভারতীয়ের সংখ্যা ছিল ১,৩৩,০৪৯। পাঁচ বছর পর ২০২২ সালের ৩১ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত তা বেড়ে হয়েছে ১,৮৩,৭৪১ জন।
