ভারতবর্ষের বীর শহীদ মেজর সন্দীপ উন্নিকৃষ্ণণের নামে ডিজেল লোকোমোটিভের নামকরণ করে তাঁকে শ্রদ্ধা জানাল ভারতীয় রেলওয়ে। নর্দান রেলওয়ের একটি ডিজেল লোকোমোটিভের এই নতুন নামকরণ করার পর পশ্চিম রেলওয়ে (Western Railway)তাদের টুইট বার্তায় এই খবর শেয়ার করেছে। টুইট বার্তায় তারা লিখেছে- 'ভারতীয় রেলওয়ে আমাদের বীর শহীদদের আন্তরিক শ্রদ্ধা জানায়'।
