বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা মঙ্গলবার পাঞ্জাব ভিত্তিক ওষুধ প্রস্তুতকারক সংস্থা কিউপি ফার্মাচেম দ্বারা উত্পাদিত একটি কাশির সিরাপ সম্পর্কে একটি বিশ্বব্যাপী মেডিকেল পণ্য সতর্কতা জারি করেছে। জানা গেছে ওই সিরাপটির বিপণনের দায়িত্বে ছিল হরিয়ানা ভিত্তিক ট্রিলিয়াম ফার্মা কোম্পানীটি।
বিশ্ব সংস্থাটি বলেছে যে তারা পশ্চিম প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় অঞ্চলে ওই পণ্যটি সনাক্ত করেছে তবে পণ্যটির ফলে কোনও শিশু অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েছে কিনা তা জানায়নি তারা। বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থার (WHO) মেডিকেল পণ্য সতর্কতায় বলা হয়েছে- মার্শাল দ্বীপপুঞ্জ এবং মাইক্রোনেশিয়াতে চিহ্নিত নিম্নমানের (contaminated) গুয়াইফেনেসিন সিরাপ টিজি সিরাপ(GUAIFENESIN SYRUP TG SYRUP)এর একটি ব্যাচকে নির্দেশ করে, যার সতর্কতা বার্তা ৬ এপ্রিল, ২০২৩-এ হু (WHO)-কে রিপোর্ট করা হয়েছিল।
