কর্ণাটক বিধানসভার নির্বাচনে দলের প্রচারে স্বভাবসিদ্ধ ভঙ্গিতে অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্বশর্মা (Himanta Biswa Sarma)। হিমন্ত বললেন, " এখন দেশ উন্নতি করছে। সেখানে কী করে এখনও মুসলমানদের মধ্যে একজন স্বামী চারজন মহিলাকে বিয়ে করছে? আমরা খুশি হই যখন শুনি দুটো বা তিনটে সন্তান হয়েছে। কিন্তু যদি কোনও মহিলা বলা হয় ১০-১২টি সন্তানের জন্ম দিতে, সেটা শুনে মনে হয় ওরা মনে হয় সন্তান তৈরির মেশিন।" দক্ষিণ কর্ণাটকের মুলকিতে প্রচারের শেষদিনে এমন কথাই বললেন হিমন্ত।
