এর আগে বিভিন্ন এলাকায় হামলার অভিযোগে তাকে ইদুক্কির জঙ্গল থেকে পেরিারে জঙ্গলে পাঠানো হয়
খারাপ ব্য়বহারের অভিযোগে কিছুদিন আগেই পাঠানো হয়েছিল অন্য একটি জঙ্গলে। এবার সেই দুষ্টু হাতি আরিকোম্বান এবার হামলা চালাল একটি রেশনের দোকানে।বেশ কিছুদিন আগেই চিন্নাকানালের জঙ্গল থেকে তাকে পাঠানো হয়েছিল পেরিয়ার টাইগার রিজার্ভ কেন্দ্রে।
এবার তার গলায় পরানো হয়েছিল একটি রেডিও কলার যাতে তাকে ট্র্যাক করা সম্ভব হয়। বেশ কিছুজনকে হত্যা করার অভিযোগ রয়েছে আরিককোম্বান নামের হাতিটির বিরুদ্ধে।
