প্রায় ১৪০০০ ফুট উচ্চতায় অবস্থিত ওম পর্বত ব্যাস উপত্যকার একটি বিখ্যাত পর্যটন গন্তব্য। পাহাড়ের উপর তুষারপাত ও বরফ পড়ে স্বাভাবিকভাবেই হিন্দি শব্দ 'ওম'-এর মতো একটি আকৃতি তৈরি করে, যার কারণে জায়গাটি ওম পর্বত নামে পরিচিত। তবে এবার সেই চিহ্নটিও উধাও হল ।
নজিরবিহীন ভাবে উত্তরাখণ্ডের ওম পর্বত ((Uttarakhand’s Om Parvat)থেকে একেবারে উধাও হয়ে গেল বরফের ওম চিহ্নটি। এই প্রথমবার পর্বতের চূড়ায় তুষার দিয়ে তৈরি ওম চিহ্নটি সম্পূর্ণরূপে অদৃশ্য হয়ে গেছে। বিশেষজ্ঞরা এই ঘটনাটিকে গত পাঁচ বছরে উচ্চ হিমালয় অঞ্চলে অল্প বৃষ্টি এবং বিক্ষিপ্ত তুষারপাত (Scattered Snowfall),সহ বেশ কয়েকটি কারণকে দায়ী করেছেন,এর মধ্যে রয়েছে ক্রমবর্ধমান যানবাহন দূষণ এবং গ্লোবাল ওয়ার্মিং এর সমস্যাও। প্রায় ১৪০০০ ফুট উচ্চতায় অবস্থিত ওম পর্বত ব্যাস উপত্যকার একটি বিখ্যাত পর্যটন গন্তব্য। পাহাড়ের উপর তুষারপাত ও বরফ পড়ে স্বাভাবিকভাবেই হিন্দি শব্দ 'ওম'-এর মতো একটি আকৃতি তৈরি করে, যার কারণে জায়গাটি ওম পর্বত নামে পরিচিত। তবে এবার সেই চিহ্নটিও উধাও হল । দেখে নিন সেই ছবি-

At 5900 meters, Om Parvat is without no snow for first time. This is result of climate change & reduced snowfall while "development" like road widening, tourism & mining have added fuel to fire.
